Once again, the Texas Pecan Board agreed to sponsor the Texas Coop Power Magazine 2011 Holiday Recipe Contest.

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative member Linda Morten’s Pecan-Cranberry Bread Pudding with Lemon Hard Sauce was this year’s grand-prizewinning recipe.

2010 Holiday Recipe Contest

Sponsored by the Texas Pecan Board

This year the Texas Pecan Board agreed to sponsor the Texas Coop Power Magazine 2010 Holiday Recipe Contest with a complete focus on pecan recipes. The response was overwhelming with over 2,000 entries coming into the magazine's office or through their website.

The $3,000 first place winner, Sharon Fabianke of Temple, Texas, made a delicious but simple "Better than a Fruitcake Cheese Ball". Check out the entire story and see other winners at the Texas Coop Power magazine website and be sure to answer their Who Knew? quiz!

 Family Features

The Texas Pecan Board partnered with Canola Oil on this campaign. Family Features sends out feature stories to newspapers, magazines, and web sites across the country that they can use to fill space in their publications. Our story featured a spread made with pecans and canola, with emphasis on including necessary healthy fats in your diet. The feature was pickedup by publications from California to the Virgin Islands, and reached an estimated audience of 5 million subscribers. This is an amazing return for our investment.

Is the Texas Pecan Checkoff Program Working?

Anybody that writes a check or even thinks about writing a check to the Texas Pecan Board has to wonder if they will ever see a return on their investment. The Texas Pecan Board is made up a growers elected by growers and they have asked that question themselves. In fact they were so concerned about the answer that they hired Texas A&M University researchers to answer the question, "Is the Texas Pecan Checkoff Program Working?"
